In the feet of an accomplished figure skater, movements seem dreamily. There is a flow in various acrobatic poses and the audience falls in rapture. Though over the years, there has been some daring exploits on skates, in total, there are about 7 common enough jumps
Waltz Jump–It entails a half-revolution in the air starting from external side of leading foot and finishing on the counterpart. It is perhaps the commonest jump.
The Salchow–So named because it was invented by Ulrich Salchow. Half revolution starts from internal side of one feet and ends in external side of other.
The Toe Loop–It takes impetus from the edge by picking a toe grip by skating backwards. After a half-revolution, skater plants himself on his other feet.
The Loop–It is similar to toe loop; only without any toe help. Here, the skater takes a full revolution.
The Flip–The skater takes impetus from the inside other foot while skating backwards and whirls himself into a total revolution.
The Lutz–Same as flip; only the revolution follows impetus from outside of the feet.
The Axel–In this daring common jump devised by Alois Lutz, The skater flies for a one and a half revolution starting from frontal external side of a feet and ending on back
